I put the pictures out of order, go all the way to the bottom and read up! More is coming, especially pictures of the house.
Another shot of Blind River Rapids.

Here is Blind River Rapids. It is "Out the Road" about 15 miles. There is one long road that stretches along the west side of the Island, it goes south about 33 miles and then it just ends. There is a boat launch area out there that takes you closer to Wrangell. Along the road the forestry service has built lots of little pull outs, paths and boardwalks. They lead to campgrounds and fishing spots. Blind River is just one of them. There is a fun 1/2 mile boardwalk out to the spot. Wouldn't be
surprised if there were bears here at certain times of the year.

Now jump ahead a bunch of days. Here are the boys at Sandy Beach. We took advantage of a few breaks in the clouds to head out for a little hike. There is a nice beach area here with picnic areas and then there is a pathway that leads out to a point. This bridge is built to be suspended in the middle. It bounces, the boys had fun.

Shot of us leaving
haines.
Here's the family and our boat. We left
Haines at 3PM and we weren't set to arrive in
Petersburg till 5:30 AM. We got a little cabin so we could sleep. It was almost as good as cruising, without the endless buffets or
broadway shows.

Here comes our boat! The boys were very excited to say the least.

We made it to
Haines early the next day, it was only about 3 hours from
Haines Junction to
Haines. We got breakfast and hung out, we had to be to the ferry to check in at 1, so we had time. Here is the loading area for the Ferry. We had to line up in a certain order so that with all the stops being made people could get off in a timely and
undisruptive manner.

Here is the stop where we realized that we were not going to make it across both borders and we started to wonder whether
Haines Junction was in Canada or Alaska. (Canada) We also were not sure whether the Border had hours (open till midnight) We decided to just drive and see where we got. We pulled into
haines Junction at about 9PM - not realizing there was a time change. We got a crap room above a bar that was very old, and while not dirty, it was "worn".

Here Caleb is posing at the side of the highway before we leave
Tok.

Here we are in
Tok, we left Fairbanks at about 10:30PM on Sept 13
th. We had reservations at Burnt Paw cabins, which allowed for late check in, like real late. The lady on the phone told me they would just leave the keys in the room with the door unlocked - what can you say, small town
Tok. We got in the room and crashed at about 3AM. We were up again for Breakfast at 8:30, we didn't leave
Tok till about Noon. We planned to get across both borders on day 2 if not all the way to
Haines.
