Ice Park

There is a World Ice Art Championship every March in Fairbanks. Teams of four come from around the world to compete in the 2 week event. The sculptures that they make are pretty impressive. They also create an ice park for the kids, where almost all the sculptures are created into slides. Caleb had a great time. Nolan was probably the warmest of us all - but the unhappiest he cried most of the time out. It was about 10 degrees outside.

An Ice Bush Plane
Is that Thomas the Train?
Momma went down on the slides too.
Caleb as an eskimo!
This was at the end of an ice tunnel that you can crawl through.
These were pretty huge and fast slides. Caleb LOVED them - he said "Caleb Like Slide"
Here is the family at the end of the slides.
This is an example of the Multi Block Sculptures - They made this out of 20 blocks of ice within 120 hours.

Ella wishes she could have come to see the Ice Championships for the 3rd year in a row. We'll be a few weeks too late, but it looks like fun and some good sculptures this year!
